Resident tells commission Little Creek apartments have leaks, high bills and safety concerns

Weaver described prolonged water leaks and insufficient insulation and said a furnace ran continuously after she moved in, generating an unusually large electric bill. "My electric bill was $714," Weaver said, adding that other residents — including a pregnant woman and young family — are experiencing electrical and comfort issues. She also said a recent state inspection covered only a subset of the units and that she had been unable to locate property-management contact information.
Director response and next steps: the director acknowledged the complaint, said he would contact Sullivan Development (the developer/owner) and the property manager to determine whether the issues stem from a management communication breakdown or construction/contractor problems, and agreed to follow up with Weaver.
