Board accepts resignations and hires several staff ahead of fall term

The superintendent asked the board to accept resignations from Macy Brekheisen (sixth‑grade science) and Amber Perez (ESL aide). He said Brekheisen left after accepting a position closer to home and recommended the board accept the resignations. The board approved.
The board also approved four employment recommendations: Mark Higgins as a bus driver; Crystal Perez as high‑school secretary (the superintendent said her effective date is July 14, 2025); Shauna Barquin as a special‑education paraprofessional; and Kaelin Sharp to fill sixth‑grade science at 5/8ths (0.625) of an FTE. Chair (S1) moved, the motion was seconded and the board approved the hires.
The superintendent noted personnel and scheduling matters related to the upcoming school-year start and said the district will provide monthly updates.
