The Nashville School District board voted July 21 to approve a $77,000 contract for renovation work on the old high-school gym lobby.
Superintendent (S2) described the planned work — removal of old floor tiles, replacement of ceiling tiles, new toilet partitions, painting and installation of new VCT flooring — and recommended awarding the project to Doyle, Howard Construction. He said the upgrades are intended so visiting patrons can use restrooms and the space during events such as career fairs and pep rallies.
Chair (S1) moved to approve the contract; the motion was seconded and the board approved the project.
Next steps: project scoping and procurement with the named contractor; superintendent said the work will be one of the early building-fund uses after the $1.5M transfer.
