The Contoocook Valley School District board voted to approve $8,801.62 from the districts Capital Trust Fund to repair fire sprinkler systems at three schools.
The request was presented by the district representative introduced in the meeting as "Mister Grassi," who told the board that quarterly sprinkler inspections uncovered needed work at Greenfield Elementary (attic leaks), Francistown Elementary (automatic drain-valve and back-floor repairs) and the high school (replacement of dry-type sprinkler heads in the gymnasiums cold storage). "The schools are not in any type of danger right now, but we do need to make these repairs," Grassi said. "So I come requesting $8,801.62 to make repairs at these 3 schools."
Board member Jim moved to approve the expenditure from the Capital Trust Fund; Curtis seconded. The motion passed on a voice vote with no opposition recorded. The board recorded the request amount and authorization to draw from the Capital Trust Fund so the district can schedule repairs this spring.
The board did not attach additional contingency funding; the presenter said the amount requested reflects the repairs identified in the most recent inspection cycle.
The board resumed its agenda after the vote; there was no public comment on the request.
