District leadership described a multi-part plan to reconfigure facilities, reassign administrative roles and expand programming to match enrollment growth and strategic priorities.
The staff member outlined a plan to move fifth grade into the district's older elementary building and create distinct K—, 5—, 7— and 9—2 configurations. "We're gonna transfer fifth grade out and put them in the old building," the staff member said, proposing to move existing principals and to create a director of student services to centralize special education and curriculum oversight without immediately hiring additional administrators.
The superintendent and staff also proposed starting a strategic-planning process focused on literacy, math, safety, communication, technology and finances. They said discussions with the Miami Valley CareerTech Center could support a second middle-school STEM section and that the district was on a wait list to add FFA/ag programming for 2026'27.
On operations and revenue, staff described plans to move to central registration and audit EMIS to better capture military-connected students for federal impact aid; meetings with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base liaisons and other districts were cited as models for process improvements.
Finally, staff reported that the classified employees'union had ratified a contract and that district negotiations would begin after graduation, with the board to schedule negotiation sessions.
Next steps: staff will continue developing a capital plan, bring administrative-assignment details to the board for approval and present program implementation timelines for STEM and FFA.
