York County board adopts levies, approves distribution resolution and routine claims; several items postponed

The York County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution to set levies for political subdivisions and approved a companion resolution outlining distributions to county departments, after routine review and roll-call votes.
During a Board of Equalization session, commissioners reviewed submitted budgets and valuations and noted the York County Historical Society had not turned in a budget and therefore will not have levy authority this year. A motion to adopt the levies resolution was made, seconded and approved by roll call.
The board also approved a vehicle-exemption application from York University (the treasurer recommended approval) and adopted a resolution to outline distributions to county departments including roads, the call center and aging services; commissioners discussed that some transfers are catch-up payments and that regular quarterly transfers will follow.
In routine business the board approved payroll and vendor claims and added a $25,000 transfer to Area on Aging. The board moved and approved the claims package by roll call.
Earlier in the meeting members discussed purchasing a county vehicle but did not take final action; after requesting quotes and more information, the board voted to postpone the purchase decision until staff provide additional vendor quotes and usage/management proposals.
A separate drawdown item that depends on the state forwarding funds was also postponed because the state had not yet sent the money; the board tabled the drawdown until funds arrive and put the item on the next meeting’s agenda.
