Warren City updates Student Recreation and Wellness Center; Skydome launch set for Nov. 4

Mrs. Elias told the Warren City Board on Sept. 24 that the Student Recreation and Wellness Center is nearing operational readiness and outlined programming and facility features.
She described two study‑stair seating areas and student lounges with TVs for teacher use, a 200‑meter indoor track with Mondo flooring that will allow the district to host indoor meets, an eSports lab expected to start competition in October, a 7,000‑square‑foot robotics lab for design/build/programming, golf simulators with TrackMan software, and two fitness areas—one geared to student athletes and a second more like a commercial fitness space for staff and students.
Elias said the district is creating an academic resource room to house curriculum materials for families and students, and is planning staff integration, intramurals, grant opportunities and community partnerships. She reported social‑media metrics since the center's soft launch and said the center's official launch will include a Skydome Planetarium visit for all fifth graders on Nov. 4.
No formal board vote was required; the update described programming, scheduling and next steps for student integration and public use.
