Board approves extension of Team Services Consulting contract; convenes closed session and approves personnel report

The Warren County Schools board approved an amendment to extend its contract with Team Services Consulting so the district can continue interim finance support while it seeks state approval for an interim finance arrangement.

Dr. Monty U. Davis explained the district lacks a chief finance officer and that the existing contract with Team Services (Jeremy's company) expired Dec. 31, 2024; he proposed extending the contract through June 30, 2025 and said the funds were already budgeted and they did not expect to exceed the budgeted amount. "The contract ended on December, '30 first 2024, and we want to amend the contract to say 06/30/2025," Dr. Davis said.

Board Member Long moved to approve the contract amendment and the motion was seconded; the board voted in favor and the motion carried. Chair Layman then accepted a motion to convene to closed session; Board Member Long cited state statutory language to justify closed session for confidential information and attorney consultation. The board entered closed session at 6:50 p.m.

After returning to open session, Vice Chair Sims moved and Board Member Long seconded approval of the personnel report as presented in closed session; the board voted and the motion carried.
