City to replace aging sewer asset system with ProWest-built software; staff training planned

Ricky, a city staff member, told the committee the city will replace its current asset-management application (previously supported by Grama Osborne with assistance from Grant Osborne) because the original system’s support will end when the current maintainer retires.
He said the city has an agreement to have ProWest Associates develop a new software suite (ArcGIS integration was discussed) that the city will operate long term. "Once the application is built, we will take it over," Ricky said, adding that ProWest will train the staff so the city can confidently add data and make changes.
Ricky said the existing system has been used primarily for wastewater collection asset management — maintenance, planned replacement, inspection records and work assignments — and the goal is to expand the new system’s use across other departments for budgeting and preventative maintenance.
The committee did not record a formal decision or timeline for full deployment at this meeting; Ricky said the transition is driven by the retiring system maintainer and the need for continued support.
