The Sunnyside Unified School District Governing Board voted unanimously to request a new Sunnyside Project SEARCH campus entity ID from the Arizona Department of Education to align program reporting with ADE's updated enrollment rules.
A presenter explained the change is administrative and driven by ADE's reporting requirement that students be associated with a physical site entity in AzEDS. "The change... is that the students need to be associated with the physical site," the presenter said, describing the request to create a Sunnyside Project SEARCH entity so the district can claim average daily membership for that population and handle JTED billing as before.
A board member moved to approve the request and the board recorded a roll-call vote with all five members voting "aye." The presenter characterized this as an action item rather than a programmatic change to the Project SEARCH model; billing and JTED partnership arrangements remain in place, the presenter said.
