Overnight field trip: The board approved the overnight field trip to the Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children in Grand Rapids (April 17–20) for the students presented by Anne Gray; presenters said the conference will be covered for students by the conference organizer.
Boiler purchase: The board approved the purchase and installation of two middle-school boilers from Detroit Boiler Company for $201,085.68, funded from sinking funds. Staff said the Airco-brand boilers match existing district equipment and are expected to last roughly 15–20 years.
Technology and procurement: The board approved the technology RFP awards recommended by staff: InnoComp for network electronics ($395,236), Nerds Express for structured cabling ($67,529.48) and Nerds Express for structured fiber cabling ($23,899.40). Staff noted E‑rate funding reduces the district share and that the overall package was under budget by $54,009.61 when accounting for E‑rate discounts.
