Board approves 2024–25 general fund budget revision

The Calcasieu Parish School Board voted to approve General Fund Budget Revision No. 1 for fiscal year 2024–25 at its Sept. 24 meeting.
Staff presented the revision, noting total revenues and other sources remained at $382,558,274 while expenditures and other uses increased to $367,200,297 — an increase of about $2,000,003.22 compared with the adopted budget. Staff identified several notable adjustments, including a $40,750 increase for a three‑year software subscription, $10,815 for social studies supplies omitted from the original budget, and $2,250,004.43 carried over from prior‑year commitments that the district has not yet completed. Projected unassigned fund balance and reserve adjustments were also shown.
A motion to accept the revision was moved by Mr. Hardesty, seconded by Dr. Washington, and passed by voice vote.
