Mansfield ZBA to offer paper packets on request, add pledges to agendas and meet on second Tuesdays

City planning staff announced procedural changes to the Mansfield Zoning Board of Adjustment at its Oct. 1 meeting. Clayton Comstock, executive director of planning and development services, said printed agenda packets will no longer be delivered to members’ homes but will be emailed in advance and available at meetings on request. "So the paper packets moving forward, will be available upon request at your board meetings," Comstock said.
Comstock also said the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States and Texas flags has been added to the board’s agendas to align with other city boards and commissions. He described the seating of two newly appointed alternates, Bradley and Jerry, who will sit at the dais and count toward attendance. Staff reminded members that the city tracks attendance and that an 80% attendance expectation applies to boards and commissions.
After brief discussion, the board agreed to move its regular meeting day from the first Wednesday to the second Tuesday of the month. The Chair said the change was intended to make in-person attendance easier for members who prefer Tuesdays.
The changes are administrative; no ordinance amendments were proposed at the meeting. Staff asked members to indicate whether they would like printed packets by replying to the emailed digital packet (contact Art or Shirley).
