Texas Health Mansfield to sponsor Hometown Holidays; council recognizes JROTC tournament and parade winners

Staff member Cohaagen announced that Texas Health Hospital Mansfield will sponsor the city’s holiday tree for Hometown Holidays. A Texas Health representative said the hospital, which is turning five in December, was eager to "extend our care outside the walls of the hospital" and to support the city’s holiday tradition.
The meeting included presentation of parade and float awards: third place went to Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, second place to Bethlehem Baptist Church, and first place to the Mansfield Veterans Memorial. Staff acknowledged involvement by the American Legion and other volunteers.
Tim Robertson, tourism manager, summarized the growth of the Sergeant Bishop Evans JROTC Invitational, saying the event expanded from three teams in its first year to teams from across the country and that it recently received recognition for economic impact. Robertson credited Sergeant Kennel and community partners for the tournament’s expansion.
The meeting record also included brief remarks about Veterans Day and an invitation to a Field of Flags event at 1101 East Broad St. the following morning at 7 a.m.
No formal council actions accompanied the presentations; they were provided as staff and community updates.
