She suggested commissioners could have required material choices consistent with surrounding neighborhoods and suggested that staff and the Development Review Committee do not always represent neighborhood interests.
Artie Wheaton Rodriguez and other staff replied in part that some aspects of a PD (planned development) can differ from base ordinance requirements and that the design choices reflected coordination between a prior staff member and the developer. The commission did not take formal action on Littke’s remarks that evening; the comment was recorded in the public record for future consideration in related cases.
