Greene County commissioners on Feb. 18 authorized procurement steps for two planning efforts: an RFQ for the Wise Carver ADA Loop Trail and an RFI to update the countywide recreation, park and open space plan.
Economic development staff asked the board to add and authorize the RFQ for the Wise Carver ADA Loop Trail; the motion was seconded and passed by unanimous voice vote. Staff also requested authorization to proceed with an RFI to inform a comprehensive update of the county’s parks and open space plan; that motion likewise passed unanimously.
Why it matters: The RFQ aims to identify design or construction teams capable of addressing Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility on the Wise Carver Loop; the RFI is intended to gather stakeholder capacity and potential project scopes for a countywide parks plan update.
What’s next: Staff will issue the RFQ and RFI and report back to the board with responses and recommended next steps for contracting or scope development.
Provenance: Authorization and motions introduced and approved during the economic development agenda items.
