"Presented in your board packet, we kinda introduced some of the topics...we have several urgent needs in the district," the presenter said; the board approved permission to advertise by voice vote.
A board member noted the district anticipates the project to be "tax rate neutral," though staff said final tax-rate impacts are still being determined with bond counsel and attorneys.
The board also approved changes to the current and next-year calendars to move a built-in snow day (this year) and to remove other built-in snow days next year, shifting the school year end dates so the last student day would be May 22 and the last teacher day May 26 for 2025-26. Trustees approved minor updates to the middle-school course-of-study, including expansion of dual-language cohorts at Northside (adding an eighth-grade cohort next year) and added guidance on high-school graduation requirements and sample freshman schedules.
In curriculum business, the board adopted Teachers Curriculum Institute (TCI) as a supplemental digital social-studies resource for middle schools after review by social-studies educators; the presenter said about half of TCI's materials are primary-source documents and that TCI will support summer training for teachers.
