MUNCIE, Ind. — At its meeting the Muncie Community Schools Board recognized several staffing announcements: Jeff Holloway, athletic director at Muncie Central High School, also introduced himself as the new boys basketball coach; Kyle Brush was presented as the new leader of the Bearcat football program and a physical-education teacher; and Tara Vaughn was introduced as the new master teacher at Southside Middle School.
Each appointee addressed the board briefly. Holloway said he will take a student-centered approach and asked for support as he balances multiple roles. Brush described plans to “bring a buzz” and hold students accountable. Vaughn, who said she has about 20 years in education and most recently worked with the Indiana Literacy Cadre, discussed supporting students through coaching and professional development.
These were introductory recognitions rather than formal hires requiring board approval on the record; the board welcomed the staff members and thanked them for their work.
