Marla said the draft removes the James Roberts Building and the Miller Building from the fair footprint, shifts arrival to the Tuesday before the fair and departure to the Tuesday after (preserving the 15-day occupancy), and removes employee names from the contract so the superintendent will coordinate logistics. Marla said the fair board is requesting "a donation amount of $3,000 to the parks department, for the use of Roberts Park during the free fair."
She also described a proposed reimbursement process for utility costs "above normal" during the fair: the parks superintendent and the fair board president would identify meters, photograph readings before and after the event, and present an itemized bill with meter numbers and affiliated charges (Marla cited Duke Energy and Connersville utilities as data sources). A board member noted the fair historically had not reimbursed utilities, and members discussed timeline and fairness of the reimbursement approach.
Because the Jan. 26 session was not a public forum, Marla and the chair agreed no vote would be taken that night; the contract and any recommended edits will return for public notice and formal vote at the February meeting.
