Centre County advances Eagle Creek sewer project with CDBG administrative contract

The project will fund roughly 2,800 feet of sewer line to serve 30–33 homes in Bald Eagle Valley, officials said. Chair (S1) and commissioners stressed the project’s role in keeping those homes affordable; Leslie said staff will finalize contracts and begin required environmental review once paperwork is complete.
Commissioners asked whether other properties could tap the new line in the future; Leslie said staff would investigate options for additional connections. The board then moved to approve the three planning and community development items related to the grant and voted unanimously to carry the items forward.
The project was presented as part of several CDBG-related items on the agenda. County staff framed the contract as necessary to meet DCED and federal reporting requirements and to manage project delivery for the Eagle Creek work. The administrative fee and the 2,800-foot scope were discussed in public detail during the presentation.
