Mansfield EDC approves $149,650 contract with LandTech Engineers for stadium inspections

The Mansfield Economic Development Corporation on March 4 approved a professional services contract with LandTech Engineers LLC for construction materials testing and special inspections on the Mansfield multi-use stadium project.

The board moved and approved a resolution authorizing a contract in an amount not to exceed $149,650, funded with MEDC bond revenue. A staff member told the board the firm will perform compression tests, inspect steel placement in foundations and slabs, and check masonry and grout to ensure materials meet the structural engineer’s specifications. “This is an independent agency. They don't work for the contractor. They don't work for the architect. They work for the city,” the staff member said.

The staff presentation explained how special inspectors follow the project’s design manual and test concrete (for example, meeting specified compressive strength) and can stop work if samples fail specifications.
