The Mansfield Parks & Facilities Development Corporation approved minutes from its Feb. 20 meeting and paused to honor staff at its March 25 work session.
Early in the meeting the board’s Parks director announced the creation of an annual employee excellence award named after longtime employee Heath Woodard. Director told the board the award will recognize outstanding service; at the meeting staff presented the inaugural award to crew leader Edward Florenciana. After the presentation the board recessed briefly so staff and recipients could take photos.
Procedural actions: the board approved the Feb. 20 minutes after a motion and second. A board member moved to approve and another seconded; the Chair called the question and recorded a 5‑0 vote in favor. At the end of the meeting members moved to adjourn; that motion also passed 5‑0.
The meeting proceeded without public comment cards; staff noted no citizens had signed up to speak. The board then continued its agenda with departmental updates and a full master plan discussion.
The board adjourned at the end of the session; staff said the next regular meeting will be April 17 and noted several items likely to appear on that agenda including construction contract awards for park projects and cost‑recovery fee updates.
