Administration said three qualified vendors submitted bids on Feb. 9 and that Ambassador offered the lowest price. Colin told the board the recommended contract is not yet included in the FY27 budget due to timing, but the pricing comparison with current services produces an estimated $109,000 savings based on current students and placements.
Board members asked if the savings had been built into the budget; administration said some adjustments remain pending (insurance rate changes and other factors) and that they will continue to update the budget until final adoption in April. After board approval, the agreement will be presented to Hebron's Board of Education as part of the collaborative process.
Vote and next steps: The board approved the superintendent entering into contract with Ambassador Wheelchair Services. Administration will finalize contract details and coordinate with Hebron for their review.
