Council approves consent agenda including Duallys permit, contract awards and supplemental poll-worker appointments

The council also approved supplemental election-inspector appointments: clerk Brianna said the December list included roughly 160 names and that about 13 additional people had applied afterward; the council approved the supplemental list and staff encouraged ongoing recruitment for poll workers.
Council members received reports from boards and commissions: a library-board report covering fund balances, flood repairs and an annual state report; a facade-grant committee decision to extend a river-facing façade grant for the Hussar Building (owner Mike Hussar) up to $17,500 for the next grant cycle; and a Parks & Recreation Commission update that included a review of park impact fees (unchanged since 2002), a list of 25 parks projects for 2026 (including an All-Abilities Playground and Kralcos Field improvements estimated at $44,000), and coordination plans to minimize the impact of Kilborn Avenue construction on Riverside Park events.
The mayor also highlighted an Outstanding Performance award for the city’s wastewater treatment facility from the DNR and reminded the council of upcoming meetings (next council meeting March 16; library board March 17) before adjourning the session.
