County to contract $341,077 with Estuary Program for septic-to-sewer monitoring tied to $21M grant

On Feb. 24 Santa Rosa County staff presented a proposed subrecipient agreement with the Pensacola and Perdido Bay Estuary Program for $341,077 to conduct water quality monitoring, data collection and outreach related to the county’s septic-to-sewer work plan.
Staff said the subrecipient work was written into the county’s application for a $21,000,000 septic-to-sewer grant and that the Estuary Program would handle monitoring and outreach components if the county proceeds. Commissioners moved the item to Thursday’s consent agenda for formal action.
Next steps: the agreement will be on the Feb. 26 consent agenda; staff said monitoring data will support project planning and identify pollution source points as part of the county’s septic-to-sewer efforts.
