Council adopted Ordinance 61-2024 on Dec. 4, declaring an emergency to amend the city's agreement with CT Consultants, Incorporated so the firm can be paid at updated rates beginning Jan. 1, 2025.
The ordinance notes CT Consultants has provided professional engineering services to the city and that an amendment is needed to reflect adjusted compensation. The emergency clause was justified by the need to implement the adjusted rates "without interruption to ongoing projects within the city," and council approved the ordinance by roll call (7–0).
Separately, council held a first reading of Ordinance 62-2024 to authorize CT Consultants for design engineering of the East Kemper Road improvement project phase 1, which includes a not-to-exceed payment of $210,000 for design work; that item received no final action at this meeting.
