Springdale City Council unanimously approved an emergency ordinance Sept. 3 to accept the low bid from DryCast Piping Corporation for the Springdale Community Center HVAC replacement phase 2 project and authorized the mayor and city administrator to execute the agreement.
The ordinance lists a base bid of $337,500 and states that the 2025 budget included funding of $416,000 for the project. During the meeting the ordinance was characterized as an emergency measure so work can proceed in a timely manner; council voted 7–0 to adopt the measure.
In a related vote, council adopted a supplemental appropriations ordinance to adjust appropriations and estimated receipts for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2025. The appropriation ordinance included department-level adjustments across public safety, parks and recreation, capital improvements and other funds, and it passed on a single vote (7–0).
What’s next: Administration is authorized to execute the DryCast Piping contract and finance staff are authorized to draw warrants up to the stated amount. Council included the appropriations adjustments in the fiscal record for 2025.
