Batavia Chamber outlines scholarships, events; Blue Dot Psychotherapy opens downtown

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce updated the City Council on local business programming and community events on March 2, and introduced a new downtown mental-health practice.
The chamber executive director (speaker 11) told the council the chamber is running a month-long "pot of gold" scholarship raffle to raise funds for four $1,000 high-school scholarships, and that registration is open for the INSPIRE celebration on April 23 at Revelry 675. The chamber executive director also announced civic awards for local businesses, a ribbon cutting at Tesla scheduled for March 5 and several networking and education programs that support local businesses.
"We are busy as always," the executive director said, listing membership events, workshops and a recent Tri-City winter mixer that drew roughly 100 attendees.
As part of the presentation, the chamber introduced Lynette Spencer, who said, "My name is Lynette Spencer and I am the founder of Blue Dot Psychotherapy." Spencer described the practice’s mission and said the clinic offers services that emphasize individual stories and community connection. She provided contact information to the council and public: phone (847) 867-8936, website blue.psychotherapy.com, and an office at 34 North Island Avenue, Suite F.
Lilian Conting, who spoke as a licensed clinical professional counselor and a colleague at Blue Dot, said she works primarily with adults on anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD and life transitions and can provide therapy in Spanish and Portuguese.
The mayor thanked the presenters and council members welcomed the business introductions.
What’s next: the chamber asked the community to participate in scholarship fundraising and attend INSPIRE; Blue Dot encouraged referrals and local partnerships.
