Katie Urso, the student representative, updated the board on recent student activities and opportunities at Ward Melville High School. She reported that a recent remote instruction day ran smoothly after a snowstorm thanks to cooperation among students, staff and administration.
Urso said the senior trip is scheduled for next Tuesday and encouraged eligible seniors to apply for the district’s local scholarships; she noted the application deadline is Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. "The deadline is February 27 at 2PM, and all of the information for this can be found on the guidance Google Classroom," she said.
Urso also announced that Ward Melville seniors Maria Gomvali and Wendy Tong were selected for the Heckscher Museum Prestigious Student Exhibition at the Heckscher Museum of Art and noted the district’s success in the national Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers. She highlighted the recent Three Village career fair and forthcoming student events, including a school talent show this Friday.
