Lansdale council approves grants, contracts, appointments and two conditional police hires

Key approvals
- Resolution 26-045: Council authorized a Montco 2040 grant application in the amount of $250,000 for Discover Lansdale's historic Freight House improvement project. The motion passed after brief clarification on the resolution number.
- Aquatic Facility design: Council accepted a proposal from Aquatic Facility Design Incorporated for engineering and design services for Fourth Street pool upgrades not to exceed $272,000; the motion passed.
- Turf maintenance contract: The council awarded a three-year turf-maintenance contract for borough-owned properties to Yellowstone Landscape as the lowest responsible bidder.
- Recycling administration: Council authorized entering an agreement with FX Brown (a division of Voyage Engineering) for administration of the curbside recycling program and authorized the borough manager to execute performance/grant documents.

Appointments and governance

Personnel: conditional police offers
In a late motion added to the agenda (Motion X), council voted to grant conditional offers of employment to Salvatore McGuire and Prince John to replace two retiring police officers. Other routine business
Council approved the treasurer's report, check warrant, and meeting minutes for earlier sessions; it also authorized advertising and public-hearing steps for a zoning ordinance amendment related to the transit-oriented development overlay (staff and solicitor said the amendment originated with a property owner and that a public hearing will permit full public comment).
