Parks staff recap 2025 Parade of Lights and tree lighting; Cub Scouts and local businesses win awards

Jill de Ramos, special events manager for Flower Mound Parks and Recreation, presented a visual recap of the town's Parade of Lights and tree‑lighting ceremony held Saturday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m.
"The Christmas parade was held on Saturday, December 6 at 6PM," Jill said as she walked the board through photos and participant totals. She reported 29 parade entries, eight town departments participating and over 785 total participants across entries. The parade route began at Bakersfield Park and concluded at Juro Park, which also hosted the tree lighting from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The event included a food‑drive collection benefiting Christian Community Action, an entertainment stage with seven Lewisville ISD elementary school performances, more than 272 student performers, photos with Santa, a petting zoo of over 40 animals, inflatables, hay‑ride loops, seven food trucks and a six‑minute choreographed fireworks show following the tree lighting.
Jill presented winners by category: youth group float — Cub Scouts Pack 1 (winner), Lewisville ISD FFA (runner‑up); business float — Flow Mo Plumbing (winner), Honest Home Services (runner‑up); nonprofit float — Special Olympics, Spirit of Flower Mound (winner); marching groups — Founders Classical Academy Silhouettes (winner), Girl Scout service unit 408 (runner‑up); motorized vehicle — Lone Star Adventure Sports (winner). She invited winners to pose for photos in the lobby for publicity.
Jill thanked CoServ for returning as presenting sponsor and acknowledged other local business sponsors and volunteer groups including the Parks Board and Women of Flower Mound. She encouraged participants to watch the town's photo slideshow and look for posted images online.
The presentation concluded with board congratulations and no formal vote was required.
