The Allentown Zoning Hearing Board on Feb. 16 approved a 60‑day continuance for the special‑use appeal filed by ECB Property Holdings for 214 North 8th Street. Board staff accepted a signed waiver from the applicant extending the board’s deadline to hear the case to April 16, 2026.
Board members were told the applicant and the city are negotiating possible alternative determinations under the recently adopted zoning ordinance, and counsel said a continuance would allow those discussions to proceed. A board member made a motion to continue the matter at the applicant’s request; another member seconded the motion and the board voted affirmatively by voice.
The continuance requires no further action by the board until the new hearing date or until the parties report progress to staff. The board clerk will file the signed waiver in the record and the matter will appear again on a future agenda.
