Ocean View trustees hear student program showcases; approve arts and special‑education agreements

Vista View principal Manny Kasam and teacher Cindy Tith presented the computer tech class in which students produce weekly news videos for the school. Student presenters Viviana Chang and Alina Maju described roles, editing and filming constraints (limited microphones and stands, sometimes short production windows) and the skills they have gained.
On the consent calendar, trustees approved several items related to educational services: - An independent contractor agreement for musical theater education between Ocean View School District and the Orange County School of the Arts for Village View Elementary (item O2). - A nonpublic agency placement agreement for a special education student per an individualized education program (IEP) (item O3). - An independent contractor agreement with PS Arts for art instruction at elementary schools (item O4).
All three items passed unanimously, and the board approved the broader consent calendar by a 5‑0 vote.
Trustees and staff emphasized the instructional value of school programs and noted the role of district and community partnerships in expanding opportunities for students.
