Board appoints Reagan Hedrick as deputy superintendent for human resources

The Ocean View School District board unanimously approved an employment agreement on April 8 to hire Reagan Hedrick as deputy superintendent of human resources, with the appointment effective May 5, 2025.

Clerk read the oral summary required by state law before the board’s final action. Key contract terms the board disclosed in open session include a three‑year term through June 30, 2028; an annual salary of $227,134; eligibility for the same certificated management salary increases granted to other district administrators; an annual doctoral stipend of $2,000 if applicable; and a 3 percent base‑salary increase effective July 1, 2027 contingent on contract renewal and a satisfactory evaluation. The contract provides a $500 monthly automobile allowance, reimbursement of actual business expenses under district policy, 22 days of annual vacation (carryover limited to 22 days), and one day of sick leave credited per month on hire.

Trustees moved and seconded the employment agreement and approved it on a 5–0 vote. Reagan Hedrick spoke briefly to express appreciation and said she looks forward to returning to the district and working with the executive cabinet and labor groups.

The clerk noted that the full contract is available to the public under California disclosure rules.

The board took a photograph with the new appointee and will place the full contract in the district’s public records as required.
