Executive director Dr. Jensen told commissioners the adjustments respond to a “misalignment” created after the district raised the bus driver pay range in April 2022 to address a shortage. “This essentially is gonna be a reallocation based on a bit of a misalignment that we had found,” Dr. Jensen said, adding that the earlier increase for bus drivers was not accompanied by corresponding adjustments in other job-family classifications.
Commissioners moved and seconded the measures during the meeting; both motions passed by voice vote with all commissioners voting in favor. The commission also approved routine consent items and the May 22 meeting minutes by unanimous votes.
Dr. Jensen described the changes as an administrative correction to bring related classifications into alignment with the district’s recruitment and retention goals. The commission’s action applies only to the salary-range designations discussed; the meeting record does not specify any immediate changes to individual employees’ pay or effective dates beyond the range adjustments recommended by staff.
