Commission approves sign-manufacturing permit for 720 Military Parkway (6–0)

The Planning and Zoning Commission voted 6–0 on Aug. 25 to recommend approval of a conditional use permit allowing sign manufacturing as a permitted cottage‑industrial use at 720 Military Parkway, Unit D. Staff recommended approval and reported no returned opposition notices within the 400‑foot notice radius.
Staff planner Tiara Clark described the site as a roughly one‑acre mixed‑use downtown parcel and said the proposed tenant (Stylo Graphic) expects to house design and indoor assembly operations in Suite D with no outdoor storage. “Staff does recommend approval of a conditional use permit to allow sign manufacturing as a permitted use at 720 Military, Unit D,” Clark said.
Property owner Mike Doherty said the tenant’s work—design, printing, fabrication and limited finishing—will be conducted inside the suite and that only minor spray painting for color matching is expected. “It’s about 5,800 square feet… It’s mostly sales, design, prints, create the banners,” Doherty said. He told commissioners the use fits the downtown cottage‑industrial category and would not create outdoor storage impacts.
Commissioner Walker moved to approve the application, and the motion carried unanimously (6–0). The item will be forwarded to City Council for consideration on Sept. 15.
