Summary
The board approved the CSIP/strategic plan quarter‑one update after a presentation by Chief of Teaching, Learning and Accountability Molly Bolton, who highlighted data integration work, KPI monitoring and workforce metrics including an 8.41% teacher attrition rate.
The Special School District of Saint Louis County board on Nov. 11 approved its first‑quarter update to the strategic plan and comprehensive school improvement plan (CSIP) following a presentation from Chief of Teaching, Learning and Accountability Molly Bolton.
Bolton described progress on a data‑integration project with MoreNet, a Hancock Place pilot to share district data, development of data governance and KPI reviews, and resources such as a para training module available in the district Canvas learning management system. She said the district has completed work on several strategy teams and is moving to operationalize performance measures.
On workforce metrics Bolton said SSD's teacher attrition rate is 8.41% (compared with a reported national rate of 7% and a Missouri state rate reported as 14.6%), and that vacancy‑fill and sub‑fill rates sit above the 90th percentile for the district. She also said the district is still awaiting some DESE figures (fund balance, graduation and attendance) for final annual results.
Board members asked for additional breakout data. One board member requested a percentage breakdown of staff hours and student counts by partner district over the last five years; Bolton agreed to provide those figures and to bring quick‑start IEP cards and additional contextual IEP minutes data in the next report.
The board moved to approve the CSIP/strategic plan update on a voice vote. No roll‑call tally was recorded in the public transcript.
