Employees would still have to stay under the $60, but we were having challenges with staff who were traveling for trainings or conferences to more expensive cities that it's challenging to stay in that $30 for a meal, especially for dinner." He described the change as giving employees flexibility so long as their total meal costs remain under $60 for the day.
Board members expressed support and asked staff to review and make the small regulatory language change; staff confirmed it was a minor tweak that will be included with the packet sent for first reading in January.
