City Manager Greg Shipman said the county made the funds available after other applicants did not use them, and noted a public hearing on the project was held Dec. 2, 2024. "This is a great opportunity for Kearns to have a working kitchen," the chair said in support during discussion.
Commissioners voted by roll call to approve the application. The city indicated that staff will proceed with the grant application and return with any required documents if the funding is awarded.
