Manassas Park board recognizes staff and announces Stacy Seiberling's resignation after election to another governing body

Superintendent Dr. Grasser used the meeting's spotlight to recap a career and aviation day held Nov. 7 at the Manassas Airport, saying the event gave eighth- through 12th-grade students interactive exposure to aviation careers and featured demonstrations and displays.

"The career fair is an interactive and informative day for students to discover a variety of careers in the aviation industry," Grasser said, and thanked legislators and staff who joined students at the event.

Dr. Grasser also presented Virginia School Boards Association Academy awards to board members for professional development credits; among those recognized were Paul Alexander, Stacy Seiberling and Michael Cummings at varying award levels.

During board-member comments Chair Sheryl Alexander announced that Stacy Seiberling had submitted a resignation after her recent election to another governing body. "I just want to congratulate Miss Seiberling on her recent election to his governing body and just tell her that we're looking forward to it. She sadly sent in her resignation letter today to let us know she'll be moving on," Alexander said, thanking Seiberling for her service.

Seiberling responded briefly, thanking colleagues and saying she looked forward to working with the new governing body.

The board also received a brief finance committee update that it will review the Capital Improvement Plan for school years 2026–2030 more fully in a January work session.

What happens next: The board will accept and process Seiberling's resignation per district procedures and will fill the vacancy according to governing rules; a CIP review is scheduled for the January work session.
