The Oneida Special School District board approved supplemental paid amendments that staff said will permit payment for a planned coaches clinic and related stipends.
Chair introduced the item and explained the money is available but requires paperwork changes before payments can be disbursed. The Superintendent outlined a plan to organize a local coaching clinic this summer and said the district wants to compensate attendees to encourage participation.
"It's about $200 a day just to help motivate," the Superintendent said, describing the per‑day stipend being considered for clinic attendees. Staff discussed whether coaches from outside the county might attend and noted the clinic could serve non‑faculty coaches as well as staff coaches.
Board members asked about insurance, liability and who would run the clinic; staff said they are developing a handbook and protocols so coaches have guidance on purchasing, procedures and updated legal requirements.
A motion to approve the supplemental paid amendments was made, seconded and carried in a unanimous roll call vote. The board’s approval adjusts internal budget categories so the district can move forward with planning and compensating participants for the proposed clinic.
