At its Jan. 22 meeting the City of Mesquite Board of Adjustments elected Andrew Williams chair and Augustine Wright vice chair.
A floor nomination was made for Andrew Williams for chair; the nominee accepted and a motion to appoint was seconded and approved. Later, Augustine accepted a nomination for vice chair and the board voted to elect him to the post. The chair announced both results; the meeting record shows both positions filled without recorded opposition.
The board also approved the consent agenda by a 5-0 vote after staff said the uncontested items met approval criteria and that no property owners within 200 feet had opposed the listed cases. The staff liaison told members the next board meeting is Feb. 26 and thanked new members for joining; the chair adjourned the meeting.
The board's administrative actions (elections and consent-agenda approvals) are final when filed in the board office and may be appealed to the appropriate court under Texas law.
