The Gilmer County Schools board approved a set of budget supplements and transfers that district finance staff said are largely carryover adjustments and transfers to align funding with actual expenditures.
Finance staff (Ginger) explained that budget supplements "are exactly what they mean" — adding funds to previously approved budgets — while negative supplements remove funds. She said transfers move existing funds to match how money will be spent and that changes in the indirect cost rate required recalculation for some grant balances.
A motion to approve the budget supplements and transfers was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board did not discuss specific dollar amounts during the public portion of the meeting; the finance office retains the detailed schedules and will file them with the official minutes.
