Commission OKs $1 million contract for Carroll Park playground improvements

City staff said the project carries a $500,000 grant that covers half the cost; the remaining city share will come from the public improvement account and is expected to be managed in next year’s budget. "It was a $1,000,000 project, and we were able to get $500,000 in grant money," staff said when commissioners asked about funding. Commissioner DeWitt requested clarification on which account the city's match would come from and staff identified public improvement funds.
The motion to approve the contract passed on a unanimous roll call (9–yes).
