The Frisco Plains Zoning Commission took several formal actions at its Aug. 26, 2025 meeting.
Item 17 — Luminate Block A (open-space plat): Staff found the most recent submittal noncompliant with the zoning and subdivision ordinances; the commission adopted a motion to disapprove item 17 and to delegate to staff the authority to provide a written explanation to the applicant. Motion passed 6–0; item denied.
Item 18 — Frisco Walmart replat (Block A, Lot 1): The applicant requested withdrawal. The commission removed the item from the table, closed the public portion and approved the staff recommendation to accept the applicant’s request to withdraw the item. Motion passed 6–0; item withdrawn/removed.
Item 19 — Pressmont Center replat: After an updated staff report and the applicant's request for disapproval, the commission moved to recommend disapproval for reasons in the staff report. Motion passed 5–0 as recorded.
Item 20 — Rollertown replat (city of Frisco): Staff recommended approval to dedicate necessary easements for the near-complete project; the commission voted to approve item 20. Motion passed 6–0.
Item 22 — Adopt 2026 development-review schedule: The commission adopted the schedule as presented. Motion passed 6–0.
Item 21 — Zoning-ordinance amendment (ZA25-3): After public comment and discussion the commission voted to reopen the public hearing and table the item to Sept. 23, 2025, to allow targeted meetings between staff and affected Rail District businesses. Motion passed 4–2; Commissioners Shawn Merrill and Michael Howard recorded as voting against tabling.
