"We're excited about this program because they're gonna have the support that they need to keep them leveled up to their very best," the superintendent said.
The superintendent also reported progress on facilities and grant work. He said the district is meeting with an outside team and expects to have the track-and-field project ready by Aug. 31 next year if timelines hold. On potential energy-related work, he described a Clean Building Act opportunity the district is pursuing that would use a roughly 30% district match and 70% grant funding if awarded.
Other updates included continued playground improvements, ongoing safety work to add and right‑size building access points, and community engagement efforts: the district is planning a school-board study session and community forum on student achievement with a spaghetti dinner and free childcare on Oct. 2 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
