"It's absolutely wonderful to be here. It's my third day on the job," Grossman said, summarizing a career in sustainable tourism and destination development that included roles with United Airlines' carbon program and state tourism offices in Oregon and Colorado.
Grossman told the board he intends to focus on visitor management, product development, tourism policy and organizational structure, and to work with land managers and city departments to align communications and operations. He said the office will also prioritize building a data and research portfolio, and aims to onboard a tourism coordinator within the fiscal year.
Board members welcomed Grossman and encouraged one‑on‑one followups and detailed input on the draft strategic plan.
