Wausau School Foundation adds student reps, new scholarships and plans fundraiser

The foundation also established two new $1,000 scholarships (one for Wausau West and one for Wausau East) and reported distributing about $15,000 in Reach for the Stars grants for the fall semester.
Debbie Trader said the foundation is planning a fundraiser in February featuring comedian Tim Bedore; an exclusive sponsor, Emmett Properties, will cover event costs. The foundation is also exploring book-vending machines for elementary schools to provide free books to students who lack books at home and plans to pursue grants to fund that initiative.
Trader asked the board and community to consider supporting the foundation via donations on the foundation website and thanked district staff for their partnership.
