Committee pulls two nursing/medication policies for further review after questions from members

One member said they would "send my kids to school with ibuprofen" if needed and asked whether the policy would punish responsible students; staff said the nurse team would provide clarification about the rationale, including safety and reaction risk, and that high schools present different monitoring challenges.
The chair put a motion forward to recommend the NEOLA policy package to the full board but to remove policy 53-10 and related nursing items for separate review; the motion was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote. The committee did not record a roll-call vote on the motion in the public transcript, but members explicitly requested that administration return the two policies for legal and administrative clarification prior to full-board consideration.
