Superintendent outlines two-year calendar planning and says he would be willing to stay 2–3 years

During his report, the superintendent described ongoing work on a two-year school calendar intended to improve coordination of athletics, transportation and district scheduling. He said staff and external educational planners had presented scenarios and that some options carried time and cost trade-offs.
“I mean, I just didn't know I mean, we consider anything. ... Some of those things have some if 1 or 2 things happen, it's pretty much a nonnegotiated,” the superintendent said when reviewing scenarios. He urged the board to examine the options without delaying necessary start dates.
Separately, the superintendent told board members he would be willing to stay an additional two to three years if the board wished to maintain continuity while longer-term planning proceeds. “If you want me to stay, I will. I'm all around,” he said during his report. Board members responded appreciatively and said they would consider the offer.
The calendar work continues; the superintendent said he would provide dates and an 'a la carte' overview of potential board sessions with the Ohio School Boards Association and asked the board to consider the recommendation in the coming weeks.
